Animated Paint BBS Tutorial- using solids by Yesi-chan
This tutorial is to help drawing in oekaki boards using Paint BBS and only solids and to learn how to use the mask option. This is how I draw but you can use some of this to help in your own style of drawing. I learned with many different tutorials and fooling around on my own which is always good since you can discover new options and choose which one you like best ^^. I only know how to use Paint BBS which is what this tutorial is for. It doesn't work with Oekaki BBS since it has different options and it's more complicated than Paint.
1. First I start of with a sketch. You may or may not skip this step. Again it's up to you to choose how you want to draw. If you do draw a sketch draw it on the BG layer, which is the layer already selected. Here's a sketch of the drawing I used for this tutorial.

2. After your sketch is finished select the white rect tool by clicking on the white icon until it says White Rect and lower the opacity a little bit.
Then select the whole canvas several times until the image is light enough so it doesn't bother much in the inking process but dark enough for you to be able to trace over the image.

3. If you drew a sketch it's time to ink. I advise that you ink on the FG layer if you don't know how to use the masking option well.

I always zoom in to sketch but you should always do what works for you best. Although zoom helps a lot especially if you don't want white spots all over the lineart. Here's my progress.
